Kim Tucker presents Bootsie Barnes 50 Years of Music Celebration

Robert "Bootsie" Barnes is an American jazz tenor saxophonist from Philadelphia, PA. In the 1950s Barnes played with various musicians in Philadelphia, including Lee Morgan, Philly Joe Jones and Bill Cosby (then a drummer).

This concert celebrates "50 years" of music and Bootsie will perform with his organ band: John Swana, valve trombone, Lucas Brown, organ, special guest saxophonist, Pete Chavez and a drummer, tbd. He will also be performing the music of the Organ Greats he not only worked for, but recorded with: Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith and Don Patterson.

Join us on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at LaRose Banquet and Jazz Club, 5531 Germantown Avenue, Phila., Pa 19144 from 7-10pm for this wonderful celebration of music. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 students (with ID).
